Introduction – School Dance
‘Creativity is as important as Numeracy and Literacy and I actually think people understand that it is important.’ Ken Robinson
At Coventry Performing Arts Service we value the arts and more importantly the impact these art forms can have on every child’s education. We offer trained, skilled practitioners, who use dance as a tool to educate, explore and express.
Coventry Performing Arts Service delivers dance to children and young people up to the age of 18 across the city. We have a variety of contexts in which we deliver our work ranging from Impact sessions that are designed to launch an exciting project or support a topic that you are exploring to ongoing weekly sessions that are embedded within your curriculum. The Dance team also offers a special school programme. We deliver to a number of special schools across Coventry and also offer Sherborne Developmental Movement sessions that are designed for children with profound multiple learning difficulties to access.
The Dance team provides the following opportunities
- GCSE/A Level Dance
- Dance Active
- Dancing Dots
- Boys’ Dance
- Pick and Mix Dance
- Sherbourne Developmental
