Armonico Consort inspires audiences with its unique programmes, and seeks to promote access to exceptional and exciting music for a broad as audience as possible working with the finest singers and instrumentalists in the UK and beyond.
Through AC Academy, its music education programme, Armonico Consort reaches 15,000 children every year offering life-changing experiences through participatory music projects. The music charity develops and supports choirs and choir leaders through its in-school Choir Creations scheme and after-school AC Academy Choirs.
The children learn a wide range of music from chart-toppers to songs from around the workd and classical favourites, in a fun and engaging way, trained by Armonico Consort’s top tutors. They also enjoy the thrill of performing on the world’s famous stages alongside special celebrity guests. In the last two years AC Academy choirs have performed with Britain’s Got Talen finalists Richard & Adam at Birmingham’s renowend Symphony Hall, sung on BBC Radio 4 Woman’s House Christmas special, and joined Strictly Come Dancing stars Kevin and Karen Clifton at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford and London’s world-famous Royal Albert Hall. And the celebrity couple were so impressed, they asked the youngsters to sing the first dance at their wedding!
By 2020, Armonico Consort aims to create 300 children’s choirs and 300 new choir leaders, creating a singing legacy across the UK.
